What Was Announced
- TripAdvisor signed an exclusive offer on 6 May 2014 to buy lafourchette, the reservation platform operating as eltenedor and thefork, from shareholders led by majority owner Otium Capital.
- TripAdvisor completed the purchase on 22 May 2014; it was its first acquisition in the restaurant sector, and the price was not disclosed.
- At the time lafourchette had more than 12,000 partner restaurants in France, Spain and Switzerland, and its availability was added to TripAdvisor's restaurant pages for direct booking.
