Kitchen Station Plan
One question: how many cooks are on tonight? The tool folds the classic brigade down to exactly that many stations, you add the names and the dishes, and you print one sheet to tape above the pass.
How it works
- 1
Say how many cooks are on
From one cook to a full brigade of eight. Every extra pair of hands takes the next line off the previous one — the way a kitchen actually grows.
- 2
Add the names and the dishes
Per station: who stands there, which dishes fire from it and what has to be ready before service. Typing saves itself.
- 3
Print the sheet
One A4 for the pass: a block per station, in the order of the line. Tape it up and the briefing is done.
- 4
Change it when the team changes
Someone calls in sick? Drop the cook count by one: the stations fold together and everything you typed stays put.
Frequently asked questions
Is this station plan free?
Yes, completely free, with no account and nothing to install. Fill it in and print straight from your browser.
What if I only have two cooks?
Then there are two stations. Cold splits off first — garde manger and dessert — and everything else stays on the hot side. At three cooks garnish appears, at four the grill, and so on up to eight.
What do saucier, garde manger and entremetier mean?
They are the classic stations of the French brigade. Almost no independent restaurant staffs eight of them, so the tool shows which classic stations each of your real ones absorbs. A new cook can read what is expected of them straight off the sheet.
Is my plan saved?
Yes, on this device, in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.
Can I rename or add stations?
Yes. Every name is a plain text field, and you can add your own station at any time — a pizza oven, an oyster bar, the dish pit.
This is a house document, not an employment policy. Hours, breaks and obligations follow your own contracts and local agreements — keep those there, not on this sheet.
