Mise en Place List

Write down once how much of each prep you need per 100 guests. Then each morning enter how many guests you expect: the list rescales itself and tells you exactly what your kitchen has to make. Print it and pin it up.

How it works

  1. 1

    Write your list once

Per prep item, type how much you need for 100 guests: 2 litres of tomato sauce, 3 kilos of cut vegetables, 0.8 litres of vinaigrette.

  2. 2

    Enter today's guests

Expecting 80? Every line rescales instantly: 1.6 litres of sauce, 2.4 kilos of vegetables. No more sums on the back of a docket.

  3. 3

    Print the list

You get one sheet, split neatly per station, with tick boxes and a column to write down what was actually made.

Frequently asked questions

Is this mise en place list free?

Yes, completely free and with no account or install. You fill in your list and print it straight from your browser.

Why do I have to enter everything per 100 guests?

Because then you only write it down once. A quiet Monday with 40 guests and a full Saturday with 160 use the same list — the tool scales the amounts for you. Work out what 100 guests get through: if 100 guests use two litres of sauce, you enter 2.

What do I put under station?

The section that makes it: hot section, larder, grill, pastry. That splits your printout neatly per station so every cook has their own sheet. Leave it empty and you simply get one list.

Is my data stored anywhere?

Your list stays in your own browser (localStorage) and is never uploaded. It is still there when you reopen the tool tomorrow.
