Put everyone on the board
A name, the role you are hiring for and — if it helps you — a colour whose meaning you decide. Every applicant lands in the 'New' column.

Move them on after every contact
Called them? Drag the card to 'Called'. Trial shift agreed? One column further. On a phone the arrows on the card do the same job.

See who has waited too long
Every card counts the days since the application came in. Anyone still sitting in an open column after three days is flagged — that is exactly where good candidates are lost.
Frequently asked questions
Is this free, and do I need an account?
The board is completely free and needs no account. Open the page and start; nothing is asked for and nothing is sold.
Where does my applicants' data go?
Only into your own browser, on this device (localStorage). Nothing is uploaded to HappyChef or anyone else. That is good for your candidates' privacy, but it also means a colleague on another computer won't see your board, and you lose it if you clear your browser data — print the board if you want a copy on paper. Remember too that application details are personal data: don't keep them longer than you need to.
Why does the tool count days?
Because that is where hospitality hiring is lost. People who apply usually apply to several places at once, and anyone who hasn't heard back within a week is already working somewhere else. Every card shows how long that person has been waiting, and after three days in an open column the card is flagged — so you call tonight instead of next week.
Can I decide what a colour means?
Yes, the colour is yours. Use it for kitchen versus floor, for who can start immediately, for your favourites, for who has their own transport. The tool attaches no meaning to it, and the colour is always optional.
