Frequently asked questions
Is this allergen chart tool free?
Yes, completely free with no account or installation. Your allergen chart is saved locally in your browser, so it survives a refresh. You can print it, download it as a PDF or share it with a link.
Which allergens are in the matrix?
The 14 allergens required by EU Regulation 1169/2011: gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, tree nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin and molluscs.
Is an allergen chart mandatory?
Across the EU you must inform guests correctly about these 14 allergens, including for non-prepacked food. How you do it varies by country — written or verbal — but an up-to-date matrix is the safest basis everywhere.
Can I mark traces too?
Yes. Click once for 'contains' and a second time for 'may contain traces'. Both appear with their own symbol in the matrix, on the print and in the PDF.
Can I share or print the allergen chart?
Yes. Print the chart or save it as a PDF, or click Share link for a link that contains the whole matrix — handy for your team, no account needed.
