One question: how many people are on the floor tonight? The tool cuts your dining room into even sections — counted in seats, not in tables — sorts the bar, the door and the break relay, and you print one sheet for the service door.

Say how many are on the floor
From one to eight. At three you run three sections; from four somebody comes off the tables and onto the bar, from six somebody onto the door — exactly the way a real dining room grows.

Check your tables and their seats
A room is already set up. Change the numbers and the seats until it is your room; the sections redistribute instantly. Five deuces is not five sixes — which is why the tool counts seats.

Per section: who is on it, and what they set up before service and close down after. Typing saves itself.

One A4 for the service door: sections, tables, duties and the break relay. Pin it up and the argument is over.

Why does it count seats instead of tables?
Because four deuces is half the work of four sixes. That is exactly what every argument about the sections is really about. So the tool cuts your room into adjacent blocks that are as equal in seats as it can manage, and tells you honestly how much difference is left when your table mix will not allow more.
Do the sections stay next to each other?
Yes. Nobody can work a section made of tables 2, 7 and 11, so the tool always cuts your room into adjacent blocks, in the order you list the tables. List them the way they stand in the room and the sheet matches the floor.
What is the break relay?
Each section is covered by the next one round, so no part of the room is ever left empty and nobody has to negotiate it at half past eight. If you would rather not print it, switch it off in the sheet header.
Is my plan saved?
