# The name on the booking is the first name of the guest who made it (or gave it to the restaurant), not of everyone at the table. Gender is read from that first name with a public first-name dictionary plus a list of common Flemish and French-Belgian names; names used for both men and women (Kim, Dominique, Chris, Sam, …), nicknames, family names and empty or encrypted names are left out. Share of bookings with a classified name that carry a woman’s name, per restaurant (at least 100 such bookings), averaged. The classified/unclassified split is pooled over every booking with a readable first name.
